This project involved the fabrication and erection of a new showroom, sales area and workshop facilities for a new Car Shop construction.

The job involved erecting a large 45m span-hipped portal frame with spliced rafters, parapet steels and two long-span two-dimensional hollow steel section truss assemblies that supported the mezzanine floor area in the centre of the footprint.

Careful consideration was taken whilst detailing the connections as there are a number of glazed areas around the front of the build so the coordination between the design team to ensure all agreed steel head levels for all structural openings was critical.

SSF also landed two flights of concrete stairs to the mezzanine steels at either end and supplied galvanised slab edge support steel angles for our client in the large loading doors and MOT pit areas.
